Registered Nurse (RN) – School Nurse
We are hiring for a great client in Glendale, AZ. This is an on-site contract opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN) – School Nurse who will provide comprehensive health services to students, promote a safe and healthy school environment, and support student well-being and academic success.
Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to students, including assessment, treatment, and management of acute and chronic health conditions
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and district policies
- Develop and implement Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and contribute to IEP and 504 plans as needed
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid and emergency care
- Monitor and manage communicable diseases while promoting infection prevention and health education
- Maintain accurate health records and ensure compliance with state, federal, and district regulations
- Collaborate with parents, physicians, teachers, and school staff to support students' health needs
- Provide health education and training to students and staff on wellness, safety, and medical procedures
- Ensure compliance with immunization requirements and other student health mandates
- Current AZ Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Previous experience in pediatric, school, public health, or community nursing preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification required
- Knowledge of IEPs, 504 Plans, Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs), and school health regulations preferred
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision‑making skills
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with students, families, educators, and healthcare providers
- Committed to promoting student health, safety, and well‑being in a collaborative educational environment.
