Registered Nurse (RN) – School Nurse

We are hiring for a great client in Glendale, AZ. This is an on-site contract opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN) – School Nurse who will provide comprehensive health services to students, promote a safe and healthy school environment, and support student well-being and academic success.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to students, including assessment, treatment, and management of acute and chronic health conditions
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and district policies
  • Develop and implement Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and contribute to IEP and 504 plans as needed
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid and emergency care
  • Monitor and manage communicable diseases while promoting infection prevention and health education
  • Maintain accurate health records and ensure compliance with state, federal, and district regulations
  • Collaborate with parents, physicians, teachers, and school staff to support students' health needs
  • Provide health education and training to students and staff on wellness, safety, and medical procedures
  • Ensure compliance with immunization requirements and other student health mandates
Qualifications
  • Current AZ Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Previous experience in pediatric, school, public health, or community nursing preferred
  • Current CPR/BLS certification required
  • Knowledge of IEPs, 504 Plans, Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs), and school health regulations preferred
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision‑making skills
  • Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with students, families, educators, and healthcare providers
  • Committed to promoting student health, safety, and well‑being in a collaborative educational environment.
