- Ensuring ongoing compliance to customer requirements, industry standards, and regulations through the use and enforcement of quality management systems such as internal audits, corrective actions, documentation control, risk management, inspection, disposition of non‑conforming product, customer complaints, and supplier quality management. The position may be involved with issues across the supply chain from suppliers, through plant manufacturing and contract manufacturing, to the customer.
- Provide Quality Engineering support for continuous improvement, change management, and cost reduction projects across the plant, including statistical analysis and reporting as needed, facilitating the use of Performance Excellence tools, and driving the creation of a product quality architecture.
- Led supplier quality activities to ensure compliance with ISO 9001, customer, regulatory and company requirements.
- Facilitate corrective and preventive actions for issues both internal to the plant and for supplier / vendor complaints.
- Support the supplier qualification process as well as ongoing supplier management by coordinating with GSM, monitoring metrics, and communicating with suppliers.
- Provide support for Customer questionnaires and surveys, certifications, quality information requests, customer complaints, and supplier corrective action reports.
- Provide quality engineering support for the QC inspection group on non‑conforming product disposition, metrology questions, and improvements to the inspection process.
- Perform data analysis as needed for improvement projects or provide support to other groups we may require assistance with data analysis. Some analytics may require a periodic report such as monthly metrics or Management Review.
- Participates in efforts for continuous improvement in quality, manufacturing, and cost reduction for the site, as well as projects to support the plant’s AS9100 certification and Nadcap accreditation.
- Use risk‑based approach to develop and improve quality management systems and make product quality decisions.
- Develop, audit and continuously monitor supplier performance.
- Provide support to operations to resolve product quality issues on the production floor in real time.
- Work with process and product engineering teams regarding key product attributes to develop appropriate control strategies and feedback loops to make sure product attributes perform as expected.
- Facilitate efforts in understanding processes, capability, and product quality architecture.
- Be an active participant in the creation of product quality architecture.
- BS/MS Degree in Engineering or Science preferred and/or transferable experience.
- 7+ years of experience in Manufacturing, Engineering, and/or Quality, preferably in an ISO 9001 or AS9100 certified location.
- Methodical, data‑based decision‑making skills with the ability to use this data in proactively finding solutions.
- Understanding of basic statistical and data analysis concepts and their application in manufacturing.
