The Quality Assurance Quality Control (QA/QC) Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a system of quality and reliability testing for the organization’s products and/or development processes. This role spans both manufacturing and field erection/installation projects, ensuring compliance with quality standards and fostering continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have prior QA/QC experience and a general understanding of industrial electrical installation practices.
ROLES/TASKSOF THE POSITION
- Develop, implement, and manage processes to ensure compliance with specifications and reliability standards for services, including creating Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 documentation.
- Evaluate and qualify vendors, ensuring manufacturing and quality processes align with required standards.
- Identify and set appropriate quality standards and parameters for in-house manufacturing and for field installation projects.
- Interpret and analyze engineering drawings, schematics, and standards (O and/or customer).
- Assist with inspections and quality verification activities related to electrical installation work, including cable tray systems, cable pulls, cable terminations, and associated field construction activities.
- Verify that installation activities are performed in accordance with project specifications, engineering drawings, applicable codes, and quality requirements.
- Utilize standard industry tools and measuring equipment, including tape measures, torque wrenches, and testing meters, to support quality inspections and documentation.
- Communicate quality standards and parameters to the O team.
- Coordinate and oversee equipment testing processes.
- Assist with the development of project specific quality documents, including Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
- Conduct shop and site audits as determined necessary by O management or customer requirements.
- Develop non-conformance reports and collaborate with engineering, project management, sales and/or construction teams to implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence.
- Identify recurring issues, defects and bugs, facilitating effective solutions and preventive measures.
- Review feedback from clients, customers, and users to ensure continuous improvement.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies.
- Prepare and present quality materials for the annual construction meetings or additional training sessions as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of QA/QC experience required in construction, industrial, manufacturing, semiconductor, data center, electrical, or related environments with a focus on Quality Assurance.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other technical degree preferred but not required.
- Strong organizational skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn, collaborate, and contribute effectively.
- General knowledge of electrical installation practices preferred, including cable tray installation, cable pulling, cable termination, and related construction activities.
- Familiarity with common construction and electrical inspection tools, including tape measures, torque wrenches, and electrical testing meters, preferred.
- Preferred certifications: CMQ/OE, CQA, CQE, CRE OR CSSBB.
