We are looking for a Data Center Security Specialist to join our expanding Data Center Operations team. The role encompasses oversight of contract employee deliverables and collaboration with Data Center Managers to devise security strategies, achieve financial targets, and improve the overall operational security within our Data Centers. The specialist will report to the Area Security Manager responsible for their Data Center Campus.

• Coordinate the activities of a professional contract guard force and oversee vendor deliverables at your assigned site or campus.
• Track service delivery against established SLAs and elevate corrective actions to senior team members as needed.
• Conduct inspections, audits, and walkthroughs to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with AWS security standards and policies.
• Interface with vendors to coordinate system repairs, preventative maintenance, and new security construction.
• Foster relationships with data center stakeholders to educate on security procedures and reduce false alarms.
• Review and approve operational work activities that potentially affect physical security.
• Provide guidance and support to vendors in the absence of SOPs or in situations that require escalation.
• Extract metrics and analyze data to observe trends and drive improvements in security operations.
• Collaborate with data center operations, colocation providers, and partner teams to achieve operational consistency.
• Support the development and implementation of security processes and procedures.
• Travel between local sites as needed, up to 50% of the workweek.

Each day begins with reviewing overnight security activity, triaging operational tickets, and checking in with the contract guard force. After inspections and vendor coordination, you may attend meetings with operations to align on upcoming construction projects, walk new build sites, or review alarm data trends. Throughout the day you document findings, update metric trackers, and prepare notes for the Area Security Manager.

Some days involve travel across multiple sites on the campus.

AWS Data Center Security (DCSEC) protects the physical infrastructure that powers the world’s most trusted cloud. The team manages access controls, surveillance systems, vendor operations, and incident response across a global footprint, emphasizing collaboration, continuous improvement, and ownership.

• Experience with various Access/Intrusion Control Systems in a Control Room environment.

• Experience collecting, analyzing, and utilizing data to drive process and system improvements.

Location:

USA, AZ, Glendale – $24.00–$42.00 USD hourly.
