Electrical Foreman

The Electrical Foreman supervises and organizes the day‑to‑day operations of the electrical workers and performs various maintenance tasks as part of the team. The foreman manages the electrical budget and ensures work orders are completed correctly and in a timely manner.

• Utilize FMX to prioritize, assign, respond to, and complete work orders.
• Manage and evaluate the work of the electrical team.
• Manage the electrical inventory of tools and materials to complete assigned projects. Arrange schedules, resources, materials, and supplies required to complete projects. Coordinate work with contractors, vendors, and other trades assigned to the project.
• Monitor staff to ensure compliance with all regulations and codes.
• Identify and evaluate electrical projects and advise the Superintendent on appropriate responses.
• Build and/or install new and/or replacement electrical lines, meters, and circuits.
• Provide necessary training for team members.
• Assist site administration with planning for electrical projects. Review site plans, blueprints, schematics, and project plans for compliance with established trade codes and standards.
• Plan, estimate, and prepare quotes for PUSD electrical projects.
• Contact vendors to purchase supplies, order parts, and receive technical assistance.
• Provide status reports to the Superintendent and site administration.
• Coordinate and work with inspectors to obtain inspection approvals and clearances. Assist other trades with electrical problems related to their projects and/or work orders.
• Carry out annual performance evaluations for employees on the team.
• Respond to electrical emergencies at night or on weekends.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.

• Knowledge of applicable federal, state, county and city statutes, rules, regulations, ordinances, and codes and PUSD policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of the principles of journey-level electrician practices and procedures.
• The ability to organize and manage records regarding purchasing and inventory control.
• Skill in reading, interpreting, understanding, and applying relevant federal, state, county, and city statutes, rules, regulations, ordinances, and codes and PUSD policies and procedures.
• Skill in assessing, analyzing, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and undertaking repairs, maintenance, and installation of electrical systems, circuits, and components.
• Skill in utilizing a variety of hand and power tools and equipment for in‑shop and on‑site repairs.
• Skill in reading, understanding, and preparing blueprints, schematics, and drawings.
• Skill in monitoring and complying with occupational safety and health regulations applicable to construction and electrical trade standards and codes.
• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with co‑workers, vendors, students, parents, the public, and others who have business with the school district.
• Skill in operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of software applications including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

High School Diploma or GED, completion of a formal electrical apprenticeship training program AND five (5) years of journey-level electrical work experience; OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education that has achieved comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities.

• Must be able to pass a fingerprint and background clearance check.
• Must possess a valid Arizona driver license at time of application and must maintain it thereafter.
• May be required to obtain and maintain an Arizona Electrician License with applicable certifications.
• May be required to perform electrical services and repairs while standing, stooping, bending, crawling, and working overhead or in trenches.
• May be required to lift and/or carry heavy, bulky supplies, equipment, tools, parts, and materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
• May be exposed to dangerous machinery, potential physical harm, extreme weather conditions, and hazardous chemicals and fumes.
• May be required to work outside normal working hours.
• May be required to travel to perform work functions.
• May be required to use personal equipment for work-related phone calls and to retrieve electronic communication.
