Job Description & How to Apply Below

You know the feeling of finishing a repair and knowing it will hold. You also know the feeling of being handed a job someone else half-fixed, and having to be the one who tells the customer the truth about it.

You want to work somewhere your name on a service report means something. Somewhere the office trusts your call, the customer trusts your word, and the crew trusts you to pick up when it is your turn on rotation.

If that sounds like the job you want, keep reading.

Why Work With Us

ORBIT Industrial fixes cranes, hoists, and lifting equipment for customers who cannot afford to be down. When their equipment stops, production stops, and we are the phone call they make.

We built this company around technicians who take the work personally. The people who diagnose to root cause instead of guessing. The people who write the report the same day they were on site. The people who call ahead when the timing changes.

We pay for skill and hours put in. We keep the work steady year after year. We give you the room to solve a problem without checking in first, because we hired you to make that call.

We are not the shop that pushes a quick fix out the door and hopes it holds. We are the shop customers call back because the last repair we did is still running.

If that is the kind of place you want to show up to, keep reading.

Please Don't Apply If
  • You settle for the quick fix when the root cause is still sitting there.
  • You leave the write-up for tomorrow, or next week, or whenever you get around to it.
  • You deliver bad news over text so you do not have to say it out loud.
  • You go quiet when the schedule slips instead of picking up the phone.
  • You are looking for a job where someone tells you what to do every hour.
Our Ideal Applicant

You trace a problem back to what caused it before you touch a wrench. Guessing costs the customer money, and you will not do it.

You write things down while you are still standing in front of the equipment. You know the details fade by the drive home, and the report has to be right.

You explain what you found in plain words. The customer walks away knowing what is wrong with their crane and what it will take to fix it.

You slow down before the step that cannot be undone. Speed is fine on the parts that can be redone. Not on the ones that cannot.

You ask before assuming when the work order looks off. A five minute phone call beats a wrong repair every time.

You flag the small problem the first time you see it, before it turns into the call at 2 a.m.

You take your turn on call. When the phone rings, you pick up.

You care that your name on the work means something. That is the whole reason you are reading this.

What You'll Be Responsible For Diagnosing Equipment to Root Cause

When you finish a call, you know what actually caused the problem. Not what looked like it caused the problem. You read the electrical and mechanical systems on the customer's crane or hoist, trace the symptom back to its source, and make the repair hold.

The office relies on your diagnosis to plan, price, and quote the next step. The customer relies on it to trust the equipment again. You are the person both sides are counting on to get it right the first time.

Keeping Equipment Safe and Running

You inspect the equipment against the applicable safety criteria, run scheduled preventive maintenance, and perform load tests when the job calls for it. You catch worn and damaged parts while they are still cheap to fix. You review the service history so patterns show up early.

When you sign off, the customer puts a load on that crane and trusts it. The paperwork proves the work was done.

Writing Reports the Office Can Build From

Your service report leaves the field complete. Photos with notes. Findings in plain words. What needs to be repaired or replaced. What the repair takes, from access and mobile equipment to labor hours, crew size, parts, and manufacturer information.

The office prices it, schedules it, and orders against it without calling you back. That is the standard.

Carrying the Company on Site

You are ORBIT at the customer's site. You explain what you found and what you recommend in words the customer understands. You support…
