Assistant Coach - Swim; PT

Position: Assistant Coach - Swim (PT)
General Job Brief:

Assist the head coach with leadership of the swim program, including recruitment efforts and other items noted below as directed by the head coach. This role also requires a comprehensive understanding of and commitment to the unique Christian mission and vision of ACU to Transform Culture with Truth, and the ability to advance that mission and vision through the performance of its duties, including person-to-person mentorship and discipleship.

Duties, Tasks, Responsibilities

Assists the Head Coach in the following areas:

* Assist the head coach to maintain a culture of faith, influence, relationships, excellence.

* Build and maintain a database for recruitment, conduct initial screening of prospective student-athletes, and coordinate with the head coach on recruitment progress.

* Communicate regularly with the Athletic Recruitment Coordinators regarding recruitment.

* Communicate regularly with the Enrollment Management Specialists and Academic Services in matters related to student-athlete success.

* Assist the head coach with team travel logistics for competitions and events.

* Provides spiritual guidance, prayer, and support for the team.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

* Commitment to the University's faith statement, mission, and purposes; and an active Christian faith.

* Comfort and familiarity with the practice of praying with and for others, including students, faculty, and fellow University staff.

* The ability to meaningfully support and encourage students, faculty, and staff from a biblical worldview perspective, using relevant and applicable references from the Old and New Testaments and orthodox Christian writings.

* Demonstrated alignment with and enthusiastic support for the Christian Mission and Core Commitments of the University, including signing the University's Statement of Faith and Core Commitments annually.

Education and Experience:

* Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred)

* Experience coaching in a collegiate or high-level program

* Demonstrated connection to the Christian Mission and Core Commitments of the University

Working Conditions:

* General sport environment

* Office hours to accomplish administrative tasks.

* Meeting with student-athletes as needed.

* Travel to competition and recruitment as needed.

Time

Required:

* Standard college calendar for in-season and out-of-season

Fair Labor Standards Act:

This position is considered to be part-time, exempt for overtime pay provisions as provided by the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and any applicable state laws.
