Interim Director, SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting
Our client, a software company, is seeking an Interim Director of SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting to support its corporate accounting and financial reporting functions during a planned leave coverage period. The position is fully remote and requires availability during Pacific Time business hours. This engagement is expected to last 9-10 months.
Responsibilities- Lead the preparation, review, and filing of quarterly and annual SEC reports and other regulatory filings.
- Draft and maintain financial statement disclosures, footnotes, and supporting reporting schedules.
- Manage reporting processes, including disclosure checklists, tie‑outs, and supporting documentation.
- Partner with external auditors and internal stakeholders throughout reporting and audit cycles.
- Research, analyze, and document technical accounting matters and complex transactions.
- Prepare and review key financial reporting schedules, including equity‑related and cash flow reporting.
- Maintain compliance with public company reporting requirements and internal control standards.
- Collaborate with Accounting, FP&A, Legal, Investor Relations, and executive leadership teams on reporting and disclosure matters.
- Support reporting system administration and process improvements related to financial reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in SEC reporting, financial reporting, and technical accounting.
- Strong experience preparing and managing Forms 10‑Q, 10‑K, and related public company filings.
- Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
- Experience with financial reporting platforms and strong Excel skills;
Workiva experience preferred.
Determining compensation for this role depends upon a wide array of factors, including the individual's skill set, experience, and training; licensure and certifications; office location and other geographic considerations; and other business and organizational needs. The salary range is listed in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
