Job Overview

Performs specialized clerical, assessment, and program support work in the administration of Dual Language Immersion Programs and English Learner services. Incumbents assist with the coordination and administration of language proficiency evaluations, Dual Language Immersion (DLI) and magnet program application processes, student reclassification activities, multilingual communications, and related office support functions. Work requires independent judgment, frequent interaction with students, parents, and staff, and adherence to assessment security and confidentiality requirements.

Two full-time permanent positions (12 months/year, 8 hours/day) in the Dual Language Immersion Programs and English Learner Services. Positions are onsite and include full district-paid benefits for the employee and dependents. District health and welfare contributions total up to $34,732.44 per year.

• Plans, schedules, and performs specialized clerical and program support activities related to student assessment and language services programs.
• Administers or assists in the administration of state, federal, and District assessments, including the English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC), in accordance with prescribed testing procedures and security requirements.
• Conducts language proficiency screenings and assessments for students applying to Dual Language Immersion (DLI), magnet, and other specialized instructional programs.
• Serves as a trained test examiner, assessor, or proctor for approved student assessments and language proficiency evaluations.
• Coordinates testing schedules, student rosters, testing locations, assessment materials, and related documentation.
• Maintains security and accountability of testing materials and confidential student records.
• Assists in reviewing, processing, and maintaining applications for DLI, magnet, and other specialized educational programs.
• Schedules language assessments and communicates testing information to students, parents, and school personnel.
• Processes student reclassification documentation and maintains related records in accordance with District, state, and federal requirements.
• Maintains databases, enters and retrieves information, prepares reports, and verifies assessment and student data for accuracy.
• Responds to inquiries from students, parents, staff, and community members regarding assessment programs, language services, and student eligibility requirements.
• Provides oral and written translation and interpretation services as assigned.
• Prepares correspondence, reports, forms, statistical summaries, and informational materials.
• Coordinates activities with school sites and District departments to ensure timely completion of assessment and language services activities.
• Assists with training and supporting temporary assessment personnel and proctors. Maintains files, records, and documentation related to assigned programs.
• May handle confidential information pertaining to student records, assessments, and program eligibility.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

Two years of increasingly responsible clerical, administrative support, assessment support, or related experience. Experience administering student assessments or supporting educational testing programs. Experience working with multilingual learners or language acquisition programs.

Written and oral proficiency preferably in Armenian, Spanish, Korean or Russian languages.

Possession of a valid California Class C Driver’s License may be required for some assignments that include travel between sites.…
