Assistant Editor; freelance

JOB DESCRIPTION

Hearst Media Production Group is seeking a freelance Assistant Editor to join the post‑production team. This role will be responsible for managing and prepping incoming and outgoing media for the editorial team. The position is on‑site in the Glendale office and reports to the EP/Head of Post‑Production.

• Logging
• File management
• Syncing
• Exporting
• Light graphics (within Premiere)
• Creating ancillary deliverables such as press release stills, show clips, and music cue sheets

• 2+ years of relevant experience in digital post‑production
• Will consider relevant internships toward experience
• Related experience and/or training considered as well as a combination of education and experience
• HMPG is a proud supporter of military veterans; related military training and experience will be considered

• Mastery of Premiere is a must
• Experience with After Effects and Photoshop preferred
• The ability to adapt and work quickly under short deadlines
• Understanding of video codecs and workflows
• A high level of attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

The salary for this role is $22 - $24 per hour. The base pay is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
