Position DescriptionThe Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of the University of Southern California (USC) and Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) in the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine are actively seeking a full‑time faculty member; a Transfusion Medicine physician with research, clinical service, and teaching responsibilities. This position is an Open Rank position and salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and scholarly accomplishments.
ResponsibilitiesTransfusion Medicine/Apheresis consults and procedures and blood bank and blood donor center physician coverage. Excellent opportunities for collaborative research exist in conjunction with our Department of Pediatrics, Division of Hematology/Oncology as well as the Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases.
Qualifications and EligibilityApplicants must have an MD, MD/PhD, or DO degree, have a CA medical license upon hire, and have demonstrated excellence in clinical care, translational research, and education. American Board of Pathology certification/eligibility in Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine or significant clinical experience in transfusion medicine is required.
CompensationThe annual base salary range for this position is $300,000 to $450,000. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
