Position: Clinical Associate Professor of Neurology (Practitioner) CHLA

TThe University of Southern California (USC), founded in 1880, is the largest private employer in the City of Los Angeles. As an employee of USC, you will be a part of a world-class research university and a member of the "Trojan Family," which is comprised of the faculty, students and staff that make the university what it is.

The Division of Neurology, Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) and the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California (USC) are actively seeking a neurologist with training in child neurology and neuromuscular medicine as a full-time faculty member for the position of Clinical Associate of Neurology and Pediatrics (Practitioner) and as a division director for CHLA's neuromuscular program.

Neuromuscular Program

CHLA's neuromuscular program is one of the largest and most diverse in the United States, offering state of the art interventions in gene therapy. The division director will oversee over a dozen clinical trials, multidisciplinary care clinics, a CCS
02-accredited clinical program, and will work with the Chief of Neurology and Chair of Pediatrics to guide advances in neuromuscular clinical care, engagement in cutting‑edge clinical trials, and research. In this latter capacity, an option to take on a role as the director of research for the neurological institute is available to qualified and interested individuals. Finally, the division director will be responsible for leading educational initiatives for pediatric, child neurology, and adult neurology trainees with other members of the neuromuscular team.

Division

of Neurology

CHLA is a busy urban, academic, teaching hospital with a diverse patient population. Our program has access to specialists in multiple areas of neurology including epilepsy, movement disorders, neurocritical care, neuroimmunology and neurodevelopmental disorders.

Our faculty provide inpatient and outpatient clinical services to CHLA and five satellite clinic locations within the greater Los Angeles area. The division has an ACGME-approved child neurology residency program which operates in collaboration with the Keck School of Medicine, Los Angeles General Hospital, and the Keck USC/University Hospital. In addition our division has multiple fellowships in epilepsy, epilepsy genetics, neuroimmunology, neurocritical care, and movement disorders.

The division of neurology and the neurological institute are dedicated to advancing programs in basic, translational and clinical research, boasting an annual NIH budget of over 25 million dollars.

The annual base salary range for this position is $116,505-$417,709. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
