Definition
Under executive direction, plans, directs, and administers non-credit academic and student support operations and activities for multiple departments, divisions, and/or programs including workforce planning, and adult basic education; directs and oversees operations of assigned campus and associated facilities; oversees the development of instructional materials and resources in support of classes and programs and; performs other related duties as assigned.
Supervision
Works under the direct supervision of the Vice President, Instructional Services.
Supervises lower-level managers, faculty, classified staff, temporary, and/or student employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following duties and responsibilities are typical of those performed by employees in this classification.
* Plans, directs, and administers non-credit academic and student support operations and activities for multiple departments, divisions, and/or programs including workforce planning, and adult basic education.
* Directs and oversees operations of assigned campus and associated facilities; works with the facilities and police departments to coordinate and manage building functions, safety, security, maintenance, and administration; ensures that the facility-related needs of employees are met and problems are resolved.
* Oversees the development of instructional materials and resources in support of classes and programs.
* Oversees instructional planning, enrollment management, curriculum development, curriculum review, student learning outcome analysis, and program and course review for assigned academic divisions.
* Oversees the implementation of effective strategies for teaching and learning technologies and methodologies in assigned programs; provides recommendations and makes decisions based on assessment of data and learning outcomes.
* Handles and resolves conflicts and issues and reports complaints as appropriate.
* Promotes diversity, equity, inclusion, cultural competency, and a positive work and academic environment.
* Directs and oversees outreach and marketing efforts for non-credit programs.
* Develops, implements, establishes, and maintains policies, processes, and procedures for applicable departments; monitors and evaluates operational, department, and service quality; may recommend, develop, and implement quality improvement assessment tools and/or methods with administration and/or regulatory agencies.
* Directs and/or conducts surveys and special studies; maintains program statistics.
* Develops, directs, and implements short- and long-term strategies and plans.
* Reviews, administers, and monitors budgets for assigned areas which may include grant and special program budgets; approves and administers budget allocations and procurements for all assigned funds as appropriate; analyzes and reviews budgetary and financial data.
