Overview
The mission of the USC Rossier School of Education is to prepare leaders to achieve educational equity through practice, research and policy. We work to improve learning opportunities and outcomes in urban settings and to address disparities that affect historically marginalized groups. We teach our students to value and respect the cultural context of the communities in which they work and to interrogate the systems of power that shape policies and practices.
Through innovative thinking and research, we strive to solve the most intractable educational problems.
- Provide individualized coaching to PK-12 leaders—such as assistant principals, principals, CBOs, and district-level administrators—at least twice a month via Zoom throughout the academic year (September–June).
- Utilize research-based coaching frameworks and, as appropriate, OPL’s reflective coaching cycle tools.
- Maintain confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism in all interactions.
- Employ data‑driven, asset‑based, and collaborative approaches that foster leader self‑efficacy, enhance decision‑making, and improve organizational and instructional outcomes.
- Model effective leadership and coaching strategies in a supportive, non‑judgmental environment.
- Demonstrated experience and formal training as a professional coach.
- Substantial experience serving in PK‑12 public schools.
- Prior leadership experience in PK‑12 settings (e.g., assistant principal, principal, CBO, director, or superintendent).
- Administrative license preferred.
- Access to a computer with a reliable internet connection.
- Candidate must have a doctorate degree.
- Program start date: third week of September 2026.
- One in‑person day required on USC’s University Park Campus (Los Angeles) in September 2026.
- Coaching sessions conducted virtually throughout the academic year.

CompensationThe base salary range for this position is $7,457–$9,587 per course. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
