About the Role
The Annenberg School of Journalism at the University of Southern California seeks a highly qualified adjunct instructor to teach PR 508:
Public Relations and Advertising Fundamentals and Strategy.
This course introduces graduate students to strategies and practices in the field of public relations and advertising, including landmark cases and current practices. The course places special emphasis on historical roots and our proprietary planning model. Experience in agency, corporate, non‑profit, or government PR/Advertising is preferred. Because of the lockstep nature of our curriculum, willingness to adhere to the established class curriculum is required.
Qualifications- B.A., B.S., M.S., or M.A. degree in a related field.
- Experience in public relations or advertising; agency, corporate, non‑profit, or government experience preferred.
- Previous teaching experience desirable; outstanding professional experience may substitute for academic credentials.

CompensationThe hourly range for this position is $37.88 – $45.46. Compensation is determined considering experience, education, skills, and other relevant factors.
Adjunct AppointmentUSC reserves the “Adjunct” appointment for faculty teaching less than full‑time at USC who are employed full‑time in a primary profession or career elsewhere. Adjunct faculty typically teach only one course per year, but may teach one course per semester in exceptional cases if approved by the dean.
