Position: Full-Time, Teaching-Track Faculty Position in Quantitative and Computational Biology

The Department of Quantitative and Computational Biology (QCB) at the Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences of the University of Southern California invites applications for a teaching‑track faculty position—Instructor or Lecturer—in Quantitative and Computational Biology. The ideal candidate will have expertise in quantitative, computational, and statistical approaches to solve fundamental questions in biology and biomedicine. The teaching activities will primarily involve teaching statistics courses such as QBIO 305 "Statistics for Biological Sciences", as well as developing and teaching other computational biology courses, including algorithmic courses such as QBIO 478 "Computational Genome Analysis".

The successful candidate is expected to have a research and teaching track record in these areas.

Responsibilities include teaching the aforementioned courses, curriculum development, and contribution to the departmental mission of integrating biology, mathematics, and computer science. The incumbent will join a department of 12 tenured/tenure‑track, teaching‑and‑research faculty, and will collaborate with faculty across the Dornsife College, Viterbi School of Engineering, Keck School of Medicine, and other USC schools.

Qualifications:

Must have a Ph.D. (or equivalent) in a related field received by the date of appointment; at least one semester of experience as an instructor of record for a computational biology course at a higher‑education institution; strong record of research and teaching in quantitative and computational biology.

Start date:

Salary
