Position: Noncredit Life Skills Adjunct Instructor - Lifelong Learning Older Adults

Noncredit Business And Life Skills Division Part-Time Lifelong Learning Seminar Instructors

The Noncredit Business and Life Skills Division is currently accepting applications for part-time Lifelong Learning Seminar Instructors to teach Older Adults select enrichment classes. Examples of courses (but not limited to) are:

  • Fitness, dance, movement
  • Computers/smartphones
  • Memoir Writing
  • Film appreciation
  • Art appreciation

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree with a major related to the subject of the course taught, and either:

A) 30 hours or 2 semester units of course work or class work in understanding the needs of the older adult taken at an accredited institution of higher education or approved by the district. This requirement may be completed concurrently during the 1st year of employment as a noncredit instructor; or

B) One year of professional experience working with older adults OR AA Degree with a major related to the subject of the course taught; and 2 years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught; and 60 hours or 4 semester units of coursework or classwork in understanding the needs of the older adult, taken at an accredited institution of higher education or approved by the district.

This last requirement may be completed concurrently during the first year of employment as a noncredit instructor.

Hourly range: $79.98 - $90.60 Benefits

Adjunct benefits are available on the HR benefits page. Adjunct applications are accepted on a continuous basis for immediate and future hiring needs. Adjunct pools remain open throughout the academic year to support ongoing recruitment for departmental assignments and can close at any time.
