Job Overview
As a Math Teacher, you will help students understand that mathematical problems have a precise solution, requiring precision and fluency through a spiral curriculum reinforced by mathematical practices. You will create an engaging learning environment and make a positive impact on student achievement.
Responsibilities- Implement instructional activities that promote meaningful learning experiences.
- Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
- Use direct instruction techniques to guide students through activities that support social, physical, and intellectual growth needed for primary school success.
- Assist in assessing changing curricular needs and propose improvement plans.
- Maintain effective and efficient record‑keeping procedures.
- Communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals regularly.
- Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
- Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community.
- Ensure continuous and appropriate student growth and achievement for the age group, subject area, and program classification.
- Participate in training and staff meetings.
- Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits, such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, and coordinating meetings when needed.
- Evaluate each student’s learning capabilities and celebrate student accomplishments.
- Encourage students to uphold values and model mature behavior and good character in the classroom, campus, and beyond.
- Be active in the role, including light lifting, sitting, standing, moving across the campus, and traveling to other campuses as required; participate in events outside normal hours.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Valid SEI endorsement/certification or ability to obtain one.
- Must pass a criminal history background check.
- Current teaching certificate from the state.
- Travel between campuses may be required.
- Lifting objects up to 25 pounds on occasion.
- Might require sitting for long periods, talking on the phone, standing, kneeling, stooping, and long periods of concentration.
- Local and in‑state travel required.
