Course Overview

The Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism at the University of Southern California is seeking a highly qualified adjunct instructor to teach PR 450:
Building Integrated Campaigns

. This course is a culminating, professionally oriented seminar that synthesizes prior coursework and applies it to strategic analysis, case studies, and the development of integrated public relations campaigns.

Responsibilities
  • Guide students in strategic analysis, planning, and the Strategic Integrated Planning (SIP) method.
  • Coach student teams in client engagement and the evolution of campaigns from concept to execution.
  • Mentor students in professional development, including resume building, interviewing skills, and job‑search strategies.
  • Facilitate oral presentations and critiques of recent successful campaigns.
  • Keep current with industry trends and practices across sectors.
Qualifications
  • B.A., B.S., M.S., or M.A. degree in a related field.
  • Previous teaching experience is desirable.
  • Outstanding professional experience may substitute for academic credentials.
Compensation & Employment Conditions

The hourly rate for this position is $37.88 – $46.96. USC reserves the Adjunct appointment for faculty teaching less than full‑time at USC who are employed full‑time in a primary profession or career elsewhere. Adjunct faculty typically teach one course per year; exceptionally, they may teach one course per semester with dean approval.
