Teach courses in Entertainment Technology using various teaching methods including demonstrations, active learning strategies and lectures. This is a full-time, tenure-track classroom teaching assignment in the Division of Visual and Performing Arts. The current teaching load is 15 instructional hours per week. Members of the full-time faculty will hold five office hours per week and are expected to devote as much time as necessary to perform the professional responsibilities of the position.
Participation in professional activities, curriculum development, and campus committees is required. The teaching assignment may include courses offered in either onsite, online and hybrid format, evening and/or Saturday classes.
Minimum Qualifications:
Any Bachelor's Degree AND two years of professional experience related to the discipline. OR Any Associate's Degree AND six years of professional experience related to the discipline. OR the equivalent. Desired
Qualifications:
More than two years of professional experience as a technician- in lighting, audio, rigging and staging, and video projection within the Live Entertainment industry. Expertise in the equipment and industry standard technology. Experience teaching Entertainment Technology courses at the college or university level. A Master's degree in Theatre Arts or Theatrical Design. Knowledge about or experience working with students who are underrepresented in higher academia, with the goal of reducing equity gaps.
Teaching experience that reflects innovative pedagogy, including active learning and culturally responsive teaching practices.
