We are seeking an experienced Solid Works CAD Designer to support mechanical design and detailing efforts. This role is primarily focused on creating and modifying mechanical components and assemblies in Solid Works, producing fabrication‑ready drawings, and supporting engineering teams throughout the design lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical fundamentals and can independently design simple to moderately complex components such as plates, brackets, enclosures, frames, and assemblies.

• Design and model mechanical components and assemblies using Solid Works.
• Create detailed 2D drawings including dimensions, tolerances, hole patterns, and fabrication notes.
• Develop mounting plates, brackets, rectangular enclosures, and structural support components.
• Design components with proper bolt patterns, fastener callouts, and mechanical interfaces.
• Generate and manage assemblies with appropriate mates and constraints.
• Modify existing designs based on engineering feedback.
• Ensure drawings comply with internal drafting standards and revision control processes.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to support prototype and production builds.
• Maintain organized CAD files and documentation.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical input when needed.

• 3+ years of professional experience using Solid Works in a mechanical design environment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design fundamentals including:
  • Bolt patterns
  • Mounting interfaces
  • Assembly constraints
  • Basic structural support design
• Experience creating fabrication‑ready drawings.
• Ability to design simple components such as rectangular plates, boxes, brackets, and frames.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, or assembly.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

• Basic familiarity with Revit.
• Experience importing/exporting CAD geometry between platforms.
• Exposure to facility or equipment layout coordination.
• Familiarity with GD&T principles.

• Works daily in Solid Works
• Can independently design common mechanical components (e.g., a rectangular plate with hole patterns)
• Understands how parts will be fabricated and assembled
• Is comfortable supporting engineering teams in a collaborative environment
• Has some exposure to Revit (but it is not a primary requirement)

Estimated Min Rate: $33.95

Estimated Max Rate: $48.50
