Working with a global telecommunications organisation, they are currently recruiting for a Broadcast Transmission Engineer, this will support a 24x7 production and transmission facility. The role will work closely with the head of engineering and the engineering and operations teams to support client operations.
Key Responsibilities- Video Network Architecture & Deployment for on-prem and cloud-based solutions
- Design, development, and support of broadcast workflows
- Work with Product Manager and Engineering in planning and execution of new customer workflow deployments
- Support and escalation point for live production network issues
- Design and Maintain system wide documentation
- Assist larger engineering team with maintaining facility operation and global transport network
- Satellite unlinking and downlinking, maintaining ground station operations
- Fiber optic wiring and troubleshooting, splicing and repair knowledge a plus
- Physical plant support in line with 24x7 operations - Generator, UPS, HVAC, etc.
- Deep expertise in Broadcast Transmission Engineering
- Video Routing Systems (IP-Based 2110, NMOS, PTP knowledge preferred)
- Video Transmission and Compression (JPEG-XS, JPEG-2K, SRT, AVC/HEVC, TS, ASI and MPEG)
- Supporting workflows in HD, UHD in both SDR and HDR
- Cable termination and soldering experience, fiber termination a plus
