Overview
The USC Viterbi School of Engineering at the University of Southern California seeks outstanding research faculty candidates for full‑time, non‑tenure‑track, benefits‑eligible research positions in the Alfred
E. Mann Department of Biomedical Engineering. Research faculty are not eligible for tenure and have no teaching obligation. Appointments may be considered for up to three years, subject to renewal upon satisfactory performance and available funding.
Highly qualified and motivated researchers with a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering or a related discipline and a minimum of four years of postdoctoral research experience. Candidates should possess strong technical and analytical skills in either of the following areas:
- Ultrasound and cellular and molecular bioengineering, including sonogenetics, cellular and molecular engineering, genetically encoded reporter development, mechanobiology of cells within their microenvironment, and immunoengineering.
- Ultrasound imaging and devices, including contrast‑free super‑resolution microvessel imaging algorithms, ultrafast ultrasound imaging system design, and hardware acceleration for real‑time ultrafast ultrasound processing.
Lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams of graduate students. Conduct innovative, independent research and contribute to collaborative projects. Demonstrate a proven track record in grant proposal development and participation as key or senior personnel on funded projects.
Salary & BenefitsThe core salary range for the positions is $85,000 - $120,000 per year. These are 12‑month, full‑time positions. Benefits are as per University policies.
