Responsibilities
- Under minimal direction, participate as a leader of the National Living Spaces Development Team to achieve department and project objectives on large, complex, high‑risk projects.
- Lead engineering, process or financial tasks during both preliminary and detailed development of projects.
- Perform high‑level analysis on more complex technical and financial elements, focused on the breadth of bundled programs.
- Support engineering, process or financial tasks during solution design.
- Help the team achieve business goals by following the Solutions Playbook and Best Business Practices methodology.
- Establish an ongoing partnership with the customer on assigned projects.
- Lead and mentor other members of the Development Team.
- Provide technical, process or financial support during the design process.
- Assist, as needed, in developing the customer business case for the conceptual solution.
- Lead preliminary data collection and modeling efforts for assigned opportunities.
- Lead or support detailed development of large projects ($2M+).
- Validate assumptions made during solution design.
- Build a detailed development budget and scope.
- Work with operations team and outside partners to develop project estimate and scope of work as well as a preliminary and detailed energy savings and financial model (ROI) for assigned projects.
- Assist in preparing proposals and other customer communication documents.
- Utilize specialized functional expertise as a development team member.
- Maintain a high degree of technical competence in multiple functional areas, capable of assessing design risk and being accountable for all elements of large projects.
- Understand the full range of JCI offerings and their applications in customer solutions.
- Devise alternative offerings to meet specific program requirements.
- Lead cross‑functional teams in the development of multiple components of the bundled sale.
- Perform detailed engineering or financial analysis to quantify cost savings or other customer benefits.
- Assist in technical or financial benchmarking as needed.
- Lead in the development of customer baselines.
- Provide risk analysis for the complete solution.
- Lead portions of the presentation to C‑level or economic clients as needed.
- Represent the development team in operational reviews of large or technically complex programs.
- Create and manage budgets, timelines, and quality of assigned opportunities.
- Fully utilize the Solutions Playbook, MyWork toolset, and other JCI development processes and tools in performing tasks and mentoring others.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and facility mid‑level technical and financial managers.
- Remain current with relevant HUD standards, engineering or design standards and practices.
- May provide post‑contract design review support.
- Participate in relevant professional organizations, taking on lead roles within those organizations.
- Maintain relevant professional certifications and licenses (e.g., Professional Engineering license).
- Promote and adhere to JCI safety policies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Lead a development team on large, complex, high‑risk projects.
- Support sales teams by identifying opportunities and serving as a technical expert.
- Conduct needs assessment of potential customers.
- Lead engineering, process, and/or financial tasks during project development.
- University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 8 or more years of suggested minimum experience in designing/selling building systems, energy modeling, construction, or facility management.
- Preferred bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field.
- 15 or more years of experience in designing or selling building systems, energy modeling, construction, or facility management.
- 5 or more years of experience working with government agencies, including basic understanding of procurement, regulations, federal statutes, and HUD energy‑related programs.
- Will consider candidates with less experience and hire at a lower level.
Hiring salary range: $112,100 – $168,400. Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
