Principal Show Technical Production Manager (Project Hire / Internal Assignment)
Walt Disney Imagineering is the master planning, creative development, design, engineering, production, project management, and research and development arm of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products. Representing more than 150 disciplines, the Imagineers create Disney resorts, theme parks, attractions, hotels, water parks, real estate, regional entertainment venues, cruises, and new media technology projects worldwide, including Marvel, Pixar, and Lucasfilm IP.
This role is a key member of the Show Project Leadership team, responsible for technical design oversight of show systems—mechanical, special effects, control, lighting, audio/visual, rigging, sets, interactives, programming, and guest digital experiences—through systems integration, media integration, compliance, coordination with facility and ride design teams, schedule and budget oversight, hazard analysis, design assurance, maintainability, installation oversight, safety and testing plans, turnover to operations, and final closeout documentation.
WhatYou Will Do
- Proven understanding of theme park attractions and integrated show systems.
- Knowledge of theatrical rigging.
- Represent and coordinate technical disciplines across design, fabrication, and integration.
- Basic mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering principles.
- Lead engineering and technical teams, managing vendors and consultants.
- Strong project scheduling, sequencing, and time management.
- Familiarity with Disney estimating/tracking practices (ROI, TCO, single vs recurring cost).
- Managing Technical Production Managers and maintaining departmental standards.
- Lead cross‑functional collaboration and decision‑making across divisions.
- 12+ years of experience in entertainment or applicable industry.
- Travel both domestically and internationally.
- Engineering license preferred.
- International experience preferred.
- Bachelor of Science (preferred) or equivalent Bachelor of Arts with a minimum of 12 years equivalent experience related to entertainment.

CompensationThe hiring range for this position is $139,200 to $186,600 per year. Base pay takes into account internal equity and geographic region, and may include a bonus, long‑term incentive units, and the full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
