Senior Cell Validation Engineer

Job Summary

The Senior Cell Validation Engineer will plan, execute, and maintain validation activities at Clarios’ Lithium Ion and Advanced Products Laboratory. The role is located onsite in Glendale and requires collaboration with cross‑functional teams to create test specifications for various cell chemistries.

• Collaborate with engineers to define test plans that meet requirements and targets.
• Communicate key findings and test issues with stakeholders in a timely manner.
• Manage and perform numerous tests across multiple cell chemistries using various testing equipment.
• Identify problems from test results and make appropriate recommendations.
• Program instrumentation and write test scripts.
• Compile data and generate test results and reports accurately and on time.
• Maintain and troubleshoot testing equipment, including cyclers, chambers, and computers.
• Monitor and maintain calibration of test equipment and instrumentation.
• Collaborate with functional groups to conduct root‑cause analysis.
• Support IATF 16949 audits and inspections by providing validation documents and evidence.
• Work independently following good laboratory practices and maintaining safety with zero recordable incidents or PPE violations.
• Source external test facilities and supervise testing at outsourced labs when required.
• Train new employees on testing procedures per the laboratory’s skills matrix.

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
• At least 5 years of experience in advanced cell testing, preferably in automotive or energy storage applications.
• Experience with cell modeling and data analysis tools.
• Hands‑on expertise with cell testing equipment and diagnostics tools.
• Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.

• Experience with Bitrode, Arbin, Maccors battery testers, and Digatron programming.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Microsoft Project.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
• Knowledge of ultracapacitors/supercapacitors.
• Experience with CAD, 3D printing, and fixture design.
• Strong project management and process improvement skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and activities.
