Drafter/Designer
We are seeking a skilled Drafter/Designer to create, revise, and maintain 3D models, part drawings, assembly drawings, and engineering documentation using Solid Works. The role involves generating detailed manufacturing drawings, including dimensions, tolerances, notes, and material specifications. You will develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and associated product documentation while interpreting engineering concepts, sketches, specifications, and verbal instructions to produce accurate design documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Create and revise 3D models, part drawings, and assembly drawings in Solid Works.
- Generate detailed manufacturing drawings with precise dimensions, tolerances, notes, and material specifications.
- Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and associated product documentation.
- Interpret engineering concepts, sketches, specifications, and verbal instructions for design documentation.
- Apply GD&T principles and drafting standards to define manufacturing and inspection requirements.
- Support engineering change requests (ECRs) and engineering change orders (ECOs).
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve design and documentation issues.
- Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, manufacturability, and compliance with company standards.
- Organize and maintain CAD files and revision-controlled documentation within the product data management system.
- Support prototype development, testing activities, and production implementation.
Essential
Skills:
- Proficiency in Solid Works for design and drafting.
- Experience in manufacturing engineering and aerospace industry.
- Ability to create work instructions and interpret engineering sketches and specifications.
- Knowledge of GD&T principles and drafting standards.
Additional Skills &
Qualifications:
- Mechanical Drafting experience.
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of Solid Works design principles.
Work Environment:
The work environment is primarily on the manufacturing/production floor. The role requires collaboration with various teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency in design and documentation processes.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Glendale, CA.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
