Overview
Job Description:
This role at Bank of America involves originating loans for clients with residential mortgage needs and serves as the primary lending specialist within the financial center. The position supports delivering First Mortgage and HELOC lending products in person or by telephone, and may include Auto Loans, Credit Cards and Core Banking products. The role balances sales performance, operational risk, and client relationship care and may be subject to SAFE Act registration requirements.

- Provide specialized and personalized service, offering advice and guidance to financial center clients across borrowing and banking offerings at various life stages.
- Build and deepen relationships with new and existing clients by leveraging the bank’s capabilities.
- Analyze client financial needs and apply knowledge of borrowing and banking to recommend suitable financial services.
- Present home lending product solutions, submit mortgage applications, assist clients with gathering required documentation, and keep clients informed throughout the mortgage loan process via outbound calls, email, and online messaging.
- Conduct outreach and pipeline management activities with consistent follow-up to meet client needs.
- Respond to client requests and make referrals to appropriate internal partners based on client needs.
- Partner with financial center leaders, performance managers, and market leaders to provide guidance and coaching to associates to deliver an exceptional client experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of mortgage origination experience or equivalent experience demonstrating ability to assess client needs, leadership ability, relationship development, and/or self-sourced business with a proven record in consultative sales and tailored financial solutions.
- Active listening to determine client needs and goals; proactive client engagement in person and over the phone.
- Strong analytical skills to assess financial and credit data and advise on product/pricing policies and guidelines; gather additional information as needed.
- Effective customer service skills to manage full end-to-end client experience and problem resolution.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle ambiguity and adapt to changing circumstances; flexible to work weekends and/or extended hours as needed.
- Team player with collaborative approach to internal and external relationships; ability to learn and understand technology.
- Commitment to professional ethics and regulatory due diligence, complying with applicable Federal and State policies.
- Experience in a financial center where goals were met or exceeded.
- Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide financial alternatives; knowledge of banking products and services.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to organize, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks.
- Experience in loan origination in a retail environment with knowledge of Mortgage Products (Conventional, Jumbo, HELOC, Government), including structuring, processing, underwriting and closing procedures; knowledge of FHA and HUD guidelines.
- Experience with other lending products (Credit Cards, Vehicle Loans); strong computer skills including MS applications and laptop technology.
- Role may be subject to SAFE Act registration; all employees engaged in residential mortgage loan originations must register with the federal registry system and remain in good standing. Failure to obtain or maintain SAFE Act registration may result in disciplinary action up to termination.
