Construction / Job Costing

A well-established construction company based in Los Angeles County is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to support financial operations across multiple active projects. This position focuses on job costing, budgeting, financial reporting, and billing within a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

• Prepare and manage project budgets, cost codes, and financial forecasts
• Monitor job costs and perform variance analysis to track project performance
• Generate monthly financial reports and project-specific performance metrics
• Manage full-cycle project billing, including invoicing and collections follow-up
• Track and process change orders, ensuring accurate cost allocation
• Support month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
• Review contracts for financial compliance and maintain detailed project records
• Partner with project managers to improve cost visibility and financial decision-making

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3+ years of project accounting experience within construction or related industry
• Strong understanding of job costing, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Experience with client billing and contract review in a project-based environment
• ERP system experience (JD Edwards, Deltek, SAP, or COINS preferred)
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
