Responsibilities
Unit Secretary/Monitor Technician performs clerical and communication functions on an assigned nursing unit. She/he monitors patients for arrhythmias and alerts proper personnel as needed. The technician provides courteous reception on the nursing unit and coordinates activities for patient care.
Qualifications- Minimum Education:
High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience - Completion of an EKG or Rhythm interpretation course
- Minimum Experience/Knowledge:
One year current experience as a Unit Secretary and Monitor Tech in an acute care setting preferred - Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Data entry computer skills
- Required License/Certification:
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) card from the American Heart Association - ED/Geropsych: AB 508 Certification (if no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire)
- EKG course required. Successful candidate must pass rhythm recognition exam
Hourly rate: $28.01.
Location:
Burbank, CA.
