Unit Secretary​/Monitor Tech - Emergency Room - Per Diem Night Shift; Union

Responsibilities

Unit Secretary/Monitor Technician performs clerical and communication functions on an assigned nursing unit. She/he monitors patients for arrhythmias and alerts proper personnel as needed. The technician provides courteous reception on the nursing unit and coordinates activities for patient care.

• Minimum Education:
  
  High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience
• Completion of an EKG or Rhythm interpretation course
• Minimum Experience/Knowledge:
  One year current experience as a Unit Secretary and Monitor Tech in an acute care setting preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Data entry computer skills
• Required License/Certification:
  Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) card from the American Heart Association
• ED/Geropsych: AB 508 Certification (if no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire)
• EKG course required. Successful candidate must pass rhythm recognition exam

Hourly rate: $28.01.
