Unit Secretary​/Monitor Tech - Emergency Room - Per Diem Shift; Union

The Unit Secretary/Monitor Technician performs clerical, and communication functions on assigned nursing unit. S/he monitors patients for arrhythmias and alerts proper personnel as needed. She/he provides courteous reception on the nursing unit and coordinates activities for patient care.

• Minimum Education:
  
  High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience
• Completion of a EKG or Rhythm interpretation course
• Minimum Experience/Knowledge:
  Minimum of one (1) year current experience as a Unit Secretary and Monitor Tech in an acute care preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Data entry computer skills
• Required License/Certification:
  Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) card from the American Heart Association.
• ED/Geropsych: AB 508 Certification (if no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire
• EKG course required. Successful candidate must pass rhythm recognition exam

The hourly rate for this position is $29.13.
