A Human Resources Technician, performs a variety of specialized and complex technical clerical duties, under the direction of an assigned supervisor, in the classified unit of the Human Resources office in support of recruitment, screening applicants, examination, selection, placement, maintenance of applicant and testing records. A high level of accuracy of work is required.
Current VacancyTwo full‑time positions (8 hrs./day, 12 months per year), with full district‑paid benefits, in the Human Resources Department, at the Administration Center. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. All Glendale Unified School District jobs are in person.

- In accordance to established procedures, policies, rules and regulations, assists in a variety of responsible and complex clerical functions in recruitment, examination, classification and compensation studies, job analysis, and employee development and training.
- Checks a variety of forms related to employment, compensation and other personnel matters for completeness, consistency, and accuracy. Screens applications to determine whether minimum requirements for employment are met.
- Assists with researching information in a variety of projects.
- Operates a computer, assigned software, and other modern office equipment.
- Assists in completing documents and data entry of various test scores during the recruitment and examination process; generates correspondence and assists in notifying applicants of their status and test scores.
- Communicates with the public, other agencies, employees and administrators regarding policies, procedures, work standards, requirements of classifications, surveys and other related inquiries.
- Prepares job bulletins and maintains information and bulletin boards as assigned.
- Performs a wide variety of clerical duties necessary to establish, maintain and process personnel/payroll records and documents.
- Receives and documents messages and correspondence regarding a variety of matters including inquiries from the public, other agencies, employees and administrators.
- May provide assistance in the preparation of agendas, minutes, and related materials for the Personnel Commission.
- May need to drive own vehicle to various sites within and outside the district to conduct work, participate in workshops, training programs, interview panels, and meetings.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent GED, supplemented by college-level course work in human resources, business administration, statistics or related field.
Experience: Two years of recent, responsible clerical or secretarial experience, preferably in a public agency human resources office. Any other combination of education, training and/or experience that demonstrates the applicant is likely to possess the required skills, knowledge, and abilities may be considered.
License or Certificate: A valid State of California Class C driver's license and use of a personal vehicle to visit work sites and attend meetings. Be insured at standard vehicle liability and property damage insurance rates, and maintain insurability.
Desirable
Qualifications:
- Experience with computerized human resources database programs and applicant tracking systems is highly desirable.
- Experience in processing or reviewing documents for compliance with complex policies or procedures and contact with the public in explaining them, in a human resources setting or similar environment.
- Written and oral proficiency in a second language.
