HR & Recruiting Coordinator
Glendale, CA
Part time – Temp to hire.
Flexible hours – 15 to 20 hours per week.
$30hr to $40hr depending on experience.
Burbank tire supplier with 7 locations is looking for an HR & Recruiting Coordinator to join their team at their Glendale corporate office.
SummarySupport the company’s growing HR function with primary responsibility for proactive recruiting and maintaining a strong candidate pipeline. This role will also help establish consistent HR practices across all seven locations, including onboarding, employee documentation, handbook administration, and performance-management support. Payroll processing and bonus calculations remain with accounting.
Responsibilities- Proactive recruiting: continuously build candidate pipelines for entry-level technicians, experienced/lead technicians, sales staff, store managers, and other key positions.
- Post and manage job openings on appropriate recruiting platforms and local channels.
- Review applications, conduct initial candidate screening, and identify candidates appropriate for interviews.
- Develop relationships with automotive schools, trade schools, community colleges, workforce programs, and other talent sources.
- Maintain an organized applicant tracking system and candidate database.
- Coordinate with the Operations Manager, who will conduct first- and second-round interviews and make hiring recommendations/selections.
- Maintain and update the employee handbook and HR policies in coordination with management and outside advisors as appropriate.
- Standardize onboarding and offboarding procedures across all stores.
- Maintain employee records and HR documentation in an organized and confidential manner.
- Support performance-review processes, employee development, training coordination, and documentation.
- Assist management with employee-relations matters and help ensure consistent application of company policies.
- Coordinate HR-related information with accounting for payroll, compensation changes, bonuses, and other payments; HR does not own payroll processing.
- Track recruiting metrics such as open positions, applicants, interviews, hires, time-to-fill, and sources of successful hires.
- 2–5+ years of practical HR, recruiting, staffing, or talent-acquisition experience preferred.
- Highly proactive and comfortable creating recruiting opportunities rather than simply waiting for applications.
- Strong organizational and follow-through skills.
- Professional communication skills and ability to work with store managers, technicians, salespeople, and applicants.
- Comfortable using recruiting/HR software and Microsoft or Google productivity tools.
- Automotive, tire, dealership, repair, or other skilled-trades recruiting experience is a plus.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment with employee information.
