Our team is looking for a Bronze & Marble Supervisor to lead and coordinate skilled work in commercial concrete construction, brick masonry, and the fabrication and installation of marble, stone, and bronze features throughout our outdoor gardens and indoor facilities, including mausoleums. In this role, you will guide a team of Bronze and Marble Workers and Custodians, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship, safe work practices, and efficient completion of projects.

You will also maintain essential departmental documentation and take an active hands-on role in repairs, enhancements, and specialty installations-such as marble statues, distinguished memorials, and architectural embellishments-contributing to the beauty, integrity, and long-term preservation of our grounds and structures.

What You'll Be Doing

* Obtain and follow drawings from the Architecture & Engineering Department to determine the requirements for placements and assembling of pedestals for sarcophagi, statues, and related embellishments.

* Establish schedules and methods for providing commercial masonry services; identify resource needs; review requirements with appropriate management and allocate resources accordingly.

* Participate in the development of the department's goals and monitor work activities to ensure compliance with established objectives.

* Participate in the preparation and administration of the department's operating, capital expenditure, and endowment care budgets; submit budget and/or project recommendations; prepare cost estimates; submit justification for equipment replacements and monitor all expenditures.

* Monitor and regulate supplies and equipment; submit requisitions for procurement of supplies, equipment, tools, and related resources; recommend substitute materials to improve or expedite work.

* Perform bid walks, coordinate pre-construction meetings, and manage commercial masonry related construction projects with vendors and/or contractors, such as wall replacements, walkway upgrades, etc.

* Collaborate with management of the other trades within the Facilities Department to accomplish goals as set in each scope of work, project, or assignment, to meet scheduled deadlines, and to ensure smooth transitions with remodels, renovations, new construction, and other special projects.

* Develop and oversee preventative maintenance programs for bronze and marble statues and embellishments.

* Work directly and/or indirectly with vendors and contractors to resolve technical problems and to give assistance as required.

* Demonstrate competence and proficient knowledge to manage all responsibilities of Bronze and Marble Workers and Custodians.

* Monitor projects to ensure they are performed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. Inspect completed work to ensure adherence to specifications and uniform appearance. Timely communicate and provide updates to the Vice President throughout project review and after inspections.

* Professionally act as a resource between the team and site supervisors on job progress, materials, and crew performance.

* Establish and maintain effective and good working relationships, demonstrating tact and diplomacy with team members and internal customers.

* Utilize good communication, leadership, and team-building skills to train, mentor, and assist employees in partnership with the Vice President.

* Regularly review job sites for safety and enforce compliance with OSHA and company standards. Report issues immediately to the Supervisor.

* Oversee the construction, maintenance, and repair to perimeter walls, concrete slabs, walkways, planter curbs, pedestals, etc.

* Supervise the installation, fabrication, restoration and repair of colored stone and glass mosaics, sarcophagi, benches, vases, crypt and niche fronts and marble statues and distinguished memorials. Including lamination of exterior surfaces with marble, granite, and other stone materials. As well as carving or sculpting marble elements for damaged statues.

* Direct all cleaning services, including when large events are taking place in Glendale.

* Call client families to resolve complaints or concerns with their garden property embellishments.

* Assist visitors, guests, and/or property owners with directions; place floral arrangements in vases on a routine basis including holidays and special occasions and remove them following Forest Lawn's removal schedule and/or when arrangements wilt, and/or as required.

* Provide technical guidance and train Maintenance Workers, Senior Maintenance Workers, and Bronze and Marble Workers.

* Maintain basic records.

* Perform all job duties in a safe manner according to Forest Lawn Standards with high quality, minimum down time, and without wasting materials.

* Work directly and/or indirectly with vendors and contractors to resolve technical problems and to give assistance as required.

* Work independently with little or no direct supervision.

* Recommend substitute materials to expedite work when required.
