Job Description

SMP is looking for different machinist! The ideal candidate will work directly with our manufacturing team to rapidly provide small quantities of prototypes parts, fixtures and tooling. Projects are focused in the mil-aerospace industry.

Main responsibilities and requirements
  • Must have 2-3 years of experience with setup, or programming, and operating 3 axis and 5-axis CNC Lathe machines.
  • Ability to troubleshoot machinery for common issues and perform standard maintenance and adjustments.
  • Demonstrated proficiency reading, interpreting and understanding blueprints.
  • Demonstrated ability to machine small, precision parts with tight tolerances.
  • Experience with Haas or Nakamura controls.
  • Creative problem solver with the ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Clear communicator.
  • Candidates must be available to start immediately.

Relocation is not offered.
