Job Summary
As a Labor & Delivery Nurse at Glendale Memorial Medical Center, part of Common Spirit Health, you’ll guide patients through the labor and childbirth process, focusing on safety of mother and baby with kindness and compassion.
Responsibilities- Triage walk‑ins to determine if a patient is in labor, water broken, false alarm, etc.
- Support pregnant patients in labor including induction, epidural assistance (if needed), general pain management and fetal monitoring.
- Assist and circulate in the operating room for cesarean sections, tubal ligation, cerclage and emergency procedures.
- Educate patients and families on interventions, medications, exams, and labor stages.
- Assess newborn and provide care.
- Communicate with the care management team, including anesthesiologist, physician or midwife, lactation nurse, charge nurse, postpartum unit, patient and family.
Position is represented by CNA.
Requirements- 6 months acute care experience in labor and delivery.
- Current and active California RN license.
- AHA Basic Fetal Monitoring, NRP, ACLS, BLS certifications required.
- Moderate Sedation certification for all monitored areas.
- 1 year of acute care experience in labor and delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
