• Manage a variety of complex patient populations in the PACU, utilizing evidence‑based practice standards to maintain physiological and behavioral functions.
• Apply the nursing process consistently and transfer scientific knowledge to staff and family.
• Formulate care plans for direct and indirect care.
• Perform essential nursing skills and explain health treatments to clients and families.
• Delegate tasks to others based on scope of practice, training, and capability.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of care, modify plans, and interpret information.
• Act as a patient advocate and initiate actions to advance the plan of care.
• Initiate and support change decisions.
• Participate in professional practice activities, including nursing committees, research, policy development, and unit‑based improvement projects.
• Demonstrate knowledge of current policies and share awareness of new trends and technology.
• Provide age‑specific care to patients.
• Utilize the six core steps of nursing (data collection, assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation, and teaching) to manage patient conditions.
• Collaborate with surgeons, co‑workers, and ancillary staff while providing direct care to PACU patients.
• Follow policies and procedures to support the RN’s scope of practice.
• Assist in establishing and maintaining performance improvement and quality control activities for the department and hospital.
• Assist in orienting, training, and providing continuing education for staff.
• Adhere to governing regulations such as hospital policies, Title 22, and JCAHO.
• Competently use Cerner Millennium to place physician orders.
• Be a team player with a positive attitude.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN). Grandfathered from BSN if hired prior to 12/2019.
• At least 1 year of prior PACU experience or 1 year in a high‑acuity intensive care setting immediately prior to application.
• Excellent communication skills, including speaking, reading, and writing English proficiently.
• Knowledge of medical procedures and conditions and ability to understand, follow, and perform duties such as whole blood collection and apheresis procedures in accordance with policies and regulations.
• Commitment to excellence in patient care and customer service.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision.

• Critical Care Nursing Certificate – CCRN (AACN) or CPAN preferred.

• Registered Nurse – RN (CA Board of Registered Nursing)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association
• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City); if no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days and renewed before expiration (required only in LA City).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association

Hourly rate range: $44.00 – $95.00.
