Care Partner – Overview
The Care Partner provides nursing staff support in the areas of patient care delivery, clerical functions, and organization of the unit environment, as well as set‑up and maintenance of equipment. The emphasis on each of these areas will depend on the unit assigned.
Minimum Education- Current California Certified Nurse Assistant Certification (California Department of Public Health)
- Active enrollment in an accredited nursing program with equivalent training and completion of the “Fundamentals of Nursing” course with a B or better
- Completion of a Registered Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, or Licensed Psychiatric Technician program from a foreign country or United States
- Medical training in military services
- Six months to one year experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Preferred in an acute care setting based on unit definition.
- Maintain active enrollment in an accredited nursing program.
- Ability to pass a 4‑hour USC Verdugo Hills Hospital Electronic Health Record data entry training course.
- Understanding of basic medical terminology and abbreviations (preferred).
- Skill in prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely manner when competing requirements and a heavy workload exist.
- Maintain active California Certified Nurse Assistant certification (California Department of Public Health)
- Verified enrollment or completion of a Registered Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, or Licensed Psychiatric Technician program, or receipt of medical training in military services, or receipt of the above licenses from a foreign country or United States.
- Must maintain active enrollment in an accredited nursing program. Individuals who graduate or drop out of an accredited nursing program will be suspended from work and given 30 calendar days to re‑enroll or obtain a California Certified Nurse Assistant certification.
The hourly rate range for this position is $22.06 - $29.69.
