Job DescriptionAs a Vascular Access Nurse Consultant, you will collaborate with our customers’ clinical teams to resolve venous access issues and support the treatment objectives of treating physicians. You may work inside or outside the hospital setting, depending on each referral, offering a unique opportunity to see varied treatment protocols and patient challenges.
Responsibilities- Place PICCs, midlines and peripheral IVs using ultrasound and ECG confirmation.
- Assist with management of PICCs and vascular access devices.
- Provide a range of vascular access support services, including but not limited to port access, line removal, and declotting.
- Educate facility nursing staff on PICCs, midlines and other CVADs.
Consultants visit patients in various customer facilities and must be willing to travel. Full‑time scheduling requires three to four days per week, including weekends, and participation in holiday rotation. Part‑time (Per Diem) scheduling requires a minimum of four scheduled shifts per month, including weekends, and participation in holiday rotation.
Training and Experience Requirements- Experienced in ultrasound‑guided IV (USGIV) placements and vascular access device (VAD) insertions.
- Training available for candidates with recent, consistent USGIV placement experience.
- Priority given to fully trained vascular access nurses; additional training available for those with strong USGIV skills.
- Registered Nurse with current license.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in acute care preferred.
- American Heart BLS Certification.
- Experience with ultrasound‑guided IV and other VAD placements.
- Experience managing vascular access devices, including care, maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Ability to work independently.
- Fulfill scheduling requirements as indicated by job classification.
- Current and valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
- Smartphone and reliable transportation for travel to patient sites.
Hourly Pay Range: $55 – $70 USD, based on candidate experience and relevant certifications.
