Care Partner – Nursing Support
The Care Partner provides nursing staff support in patient care delivery, clerical functions, and organization of the unit environment, including set‑up and maintenance of equipment. The emphasis on each area depends on the unit assigned.
Responsibilities- Assist nursing staff with patient care delivery.
- Perform clerical functions and maintain unit organization.
- Set up and maintain equipment as required.
- Prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner during high workload.
- Complete a 4‑hour USC Verdugo Hills Hospital Electronic Health Record data‑entry training course.
- Current California Certified Nurse Assistant Certification (California Department of Public Health) OR active enrollment in an accredited nursing program with completion of the “Fundamentals of Nursing” course with a B or better.
- Six months to one year experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting (preferred) OR active enrollment in an accredited nursing program.
- Understanding of basic medical terminology and abbreviations is preferred.
- Maintain active California Certified Nurse Assistant certification (California Department of Public Health).
- Or verified enrollment (or completion) of a Registered Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, or Licensed Psychiatric Technician program, medical training in military services, or equivalent from a foreign country.
- If hired without a current certification, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration.
- Completion of AB508 (Management of Assaultive Behavior) is required.
The hourly rate for this position is $24.72.
