Overview
The Care Partner supports nursing staff in patient care delivery, clerical functions, and unit organization, as well as equipment setup and maintenance. The emphasis on each area varies by unit assignment.
ResponsibilitiesThe role requires:
- Assisting with patient care delivery.
- Performing clerical tasks.
- Organizing unit environment.
- Setting up and maintaining medical equipment.
- Prioritizing assignments to meet deadlines in high workload situations.
- Six months to one year experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant, preferably in an acute care setting.
- Active enrollment in an accredited nursing program, or completed fundamentals of nursing with a B or better.
- Completion of a Registered Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, or Licensed Psychiatric Technician program from a foreign country or the United States, or medical training in military services.
- California Certified Nurse Assistant certification (California Department of Public Health). OR verified enrollment in or completion of a RN, LVN, or LPT program, or military medical training from a foreign country or the United States. Must remain actively enrolled in an accredited nursing program if enrolled.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certificate from the American Heart Association. If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days and renewed before expiration.
- AB508 (Management of Assaultive Behavior) certification.
- Ability to pass a 4‑hour Electronic Health Record data entry training course at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital.
Hourly rate range: $23.00 – $30.87.
