Position: Travel Registered Nurse L&D Job

Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (L&D) | Glendale, CA

Start 08/17/2026 | 8-week travel assignment | 36 hours per week | Nights (12-hour shifts) | Inpatient hospital setting.

This travel RN role focuses on delivering coordinated obstetric nursing care for patients and groups of patients, following established standards of care and the nursing process. The assignment includes supervising and directing the activities of various levels of nursing staff, coordinating care with other disciplines, and exercising professional judgment and critical thinking in a dynamic, high-acuity environment.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver direct nursing care to obstetric patients and families, applying the nursing process and established standards of care.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of nursing staff across multiple levels, ensuring safe, efficient patient flow.
  • Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other disciplines to coordinate comprehensive perinatal care.
  • Monitor patient status, recognize changes, respond promptly, and administer treatments and medications per protocol.
  • Document all assessments, plans, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
  • Promote patient education, discharge planning, and ongoing support for mothers and newborns.
Requirements
  • Active registered nurse license in California (or eligibility for licensure).
  • Relevant L&D experience or obstetric nursing exposure.
  • Ability to work 12-hour night shifts in a travel assignment.
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ASN or BSN).
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity, fast-paced hospital setting.
