Care Partner; CNA - South - Night Shift; Union

Overview

The Care Partner provides nursing staff support in patient care delivery, clerical functions, organization of the unit environment, and set-up and maintenance of equipment. The emphasis on each area will depend on the assigned unit.

• Assist nursing staff with patient care delivery.
• Perform clerical functions related to patient care and unit organization.
• Set up and maintain medical equipment.

• Current California Certified Nurse Assistant Certification (California Department of Public Health)
• Active enrollment in an accredited nursing program with equivalent training and completion of the “Fundamentals of Nursing” course with a B or better
• Completion of a Registered Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, or Licensed Psychiatric Technician program from a foreign country or United States
• Medical training in military services

• Six months to one year experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting (preferred).
• Maintain active enrollment in an accredited nursing program.
• Ability to pass a 4‑hour USC Verdugo Hills Hospital Electronic Health Record data entry training course.
• Understanding of basic medical terminology and abbreviations (preferred).
• Skill in prioritizing assignments and completing work in a timely manner amid competing requirements and a heavy workload.

• Maintain active California Certified Nurse Assistant certification (California Department of Public Health).
• Verified enrollment or completion of a Registered Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, or Licensed Psychiatric Technician program, or receipt of medical training in military services, or the equivalent from a foreign country or United States.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association.
• AB508 (Management of Assaultive Behavior). If no card at hire, obtain within 30 days and renew before expiration.

The hourly rate range for this position is $23.00 – $30.87.
