Overview
The Care Partner provides nursing staff support in patient care delivery, clerical functions, organization of the unit environment, and set-up and maintenance of equipment. The emphasis on each area will depend on the assigned unit.
Responsibilities- Assist nursing staff with patient care delivery.
- Perform clerical functions related to patient care and unit organization.
- Set up and maintain medical equipment.
- Current California Certified Nurse Assistant Certification (California Department of Public Health)
- Active enrollment in an accredited nursing program with equivalent training and completion of the “Fundamentals of Nursing” course with a B or better
- Completion of a Registered Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, or Licensed Psychiatric Technician program from a foreign country or United States
- Medical training in military services
- Six months to one year experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting (preferred).
- Maintain active enrollment in an accredited nursing program.
- Ability to pass a 4‑hour USC Verdugo Hills Hospital Electronic Health Record data entry training course.
- Understanding of basic medical terminology and abbreviations (preferred).
- Skill in prioritizing assignments and completing work in a timely manner amid competing requirements and a heavy workload.
- Maintain active California Certified Nurse Assistant certification (California Department of Public Health).
- Verified enrollment or completion of a Registered Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, or Licensed Psychiatric Technician program, or receipt of medical training in military services, or the equivalent from a foreign country or United States.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association.
- AB508 (Management of Assaultive Behavior). If no card at hire, obtain within 30 days and renew before expiration.
The hourly rate range for this position is $23.00 – $30.87.
