Registered Nurse - South Telemetry - Night Shift; Union

Responsibilities

• Support the Chief Nursing Officer in leading the patient‑care team to provide safe, recovery‑focused, and comfortable care using the nursing process.
• Provide patient education, advocacy, and practice compliance with regulatory requirements including CMS Conditions of Participation, Title 22, CDPH regulations, and DNV‑GL/NIAHO standards.
• Assist the department manager and director with quality improvement, unit growth, and efficient service delivery.
• Exercise patient‑care decision‑making within the scope of practice, using patient classification methods and clinical judgment.
• Create a healing environment, prevent harm, educate patients on their conditions, and report abnormal findings in a timely manner.
• Help plan and execute patient‑care delivery for the shift, contribute to unit planning, and support continual improvement.
• Precept new hires, validate their competency, teach nursing students, and delegate tasks to RNs, LVNs, and CNAs as appropriate.
• Coordinate assigned teams, communicate expectations and interventions, report back, and identify improvement opportunities and unusual events.

• Minimum Education:
  
  BSN desired; if not obtained, must be achieved within five years of hire.
• Minimum Experience:
  
  1 year acute‑care clinical experience; experience with orthopedic and stroke patient populations preferred.
• Cardiac Cath Lab Nurses: 1 year acute‑care experience and 1 year+ experience in IR, EP, or Cardiac Cath Lab preferred.
• 6th Floor Med/Surg Employees:
  Two years orthopedic and medical‑surgical nursing experience; certification in medical‑surgical, orthopedic, or other specialty preferred.

  California Registered Nurse license; specialty or management license desired.

  BLS, ACLS, PALS, AB508 (within 30 days), NIHSS (within 30 days), NRP (within 6 months), ENPC (within 12 months). All certifications must remain active from effective date of hire.

The hourly rate range for this position is $47.58 to $76.68.
