Junior Electrical Quality Engineer

Job Description

The Junior Electrical Quality Engineer role focuses on analyzing customer-returned electrical parts, driving corrective and preventive actions, and improving manufacturing processes within an aerospace environment. The position plays a key role in root cause analysis, validation of customer RMAs, and representation of Quality Assurance in material review activities to prevent recurring failures and ensure high product reliability.

Responsibilities

+ Perform detailed analysis of customer-returned electrical parts to identify failure modes and use findings to drive corrective and preventive action improvements.

+ Run tests on electrical components and assemblies to verify performance, identify defects, and support troubleshooting activities.

+ Conduct root cause analysis on internal and external issues to prevent recurring failures and reduce risk across products and processes.

+ Validate customer Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) and determine appropriate follow-up actions to improve manufacturing processes and product quality.

+ Create inspection plans and test procedures for electrical parts and assemblies, ensuring they meet applicable aerospace and quality standards.

+ Represent Quality Assurance on the Material Review Board (MRB) for internal rejections, supporting decisions on nonconforming material and disposition.

+ Prepare, review, and maintain documentation related to first article inspections (FAI), corrective actions, and quality audits.

+ Support audits and compliance activities by providing evidence of adherence to quality standards and continuous improvement initiatives.

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain, to resolve quality issues and implement robust corrective actions.

+ Monitor and report on quality performance metrics, highlighting trends and recommending improvements to processes and procedures.

Essential Skills

+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) or a related field.

+ Ability to test and evaluate electrical parts, components, or assemblies and develop inspection plans and test procedures for electrical products.

+ Experience in manufacturing, ideally aerospace

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills applied to complex technical issues.

+ Ability to clearly document findings, inspection results, and corrective action plans.

+ Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and representing Quality Assurance in MRB meetings.

+ Attention to detail and a structured approach to documentation and compliance.

Work Environment

This role operates in a manufacturing and engineering environment focused on aerospace products and electrical components. The Quality Engineer works closely with production, engineering, and quality teams, frequently interacting with test equipment, inspection tools, and documentation systems. The position involves participation in Material Review Board meetings, handling nonconforming materials, and supporting audits and continuous improvement initiatives. Work hours typically align with standard business operations, with occasional flexibility required to support production needs and critical quality investigations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Glendale, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
