Position Summary

The Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist (TAS) is a field‑based role that drives demand for Bristol Myers Squibb  medicines within its portfolio. The TAS engages healthcare providers (HCPs), builds scientific credibility, and collaborates cross‑functionally to provide a superior customer experience. The position requires 100% field time and supports the company’s mission of transforming patients’ lives through science.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory, meeting or exceeding assigned sales targets in a compliant manner.
  • Create demand by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for appropriate use of products.
  • Maintain and grow scientific expertise across all assigned products and therapeutic areas.
  • Prepare and implement comprehensive territory and account plans.
  • Use customer‑engagement tools such as CE^3 to derive insights and inform call plans, providing feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate scientific expertise and use approved resources to present accurate, label‑consistent information to HCPs.
  • Conduct in‑office presentations and facilitate external speaker programs.
  • Engage real‑time medical support to address complex inquiries.
  • Collaborate with field teams to ensure the best customer experience.
  • Share relevant insights internally with stakeholders to enhance customer service.
  • Comply with all laws, regulations, and company policies governing conduct.
Qualifications
  • Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience in healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nursing.
  • Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately and convincingly to physicians.
  • Experience building credibility with key customers and office staff through a customer‑centric mindset.
  • Preferred experience in neurology.
  • Strong account‑management and selling skills with a proven performance track record of meeting or exceeding goals.
  • Effective cross‑functional collaboration and a can‑do attitude.
  • Strong selling and promotional skills demonstrated through performance.
  • Eligibility to operate a company‑provided vehicle and meet the company’s qualified driver requirements.

Compensation and Benefits

Field – United States – $139,230–$168,714. Base salary plus incentive cash and stock opportunities may be available. Final compensation is based on demonstrated experience.
