Job Summary And Responsibilities
Glendale Memorial Hospital & Health is seeking a vigilant, responsible, and professional Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of our premises, personnel, and assets. The ideal candidate will possess excellent observation skills, a strong sense of integrity, and the ability to respond effectively to various security situations. This role is crucial in maintaining a secure and orderly environment for everyone within our facility.
- Protecting staff, patients, and visitors by responding to calls for assistance in a timely and prudent manner, such as violent or unruly patients, visitors, crimes committed or in progress, opening doors, and responding to emergency codes.
- Patrol the facility and grounds by foot or vehicle; monitor security alarms and dispatch officers promptly to location(s) where needed, and report unsafe acts or conditions.
- Knowledge of emergency procedures, equipment, supplies, reports HIPAA breaches if witnessed; investigates security breaches, conducts follow-up investigations, and writes incident reports.
- Log all activities in a daily log to accurately record events; and complete clear, concise, and legible reports promptly; use appropriate emergency and radio codes in dispatching security officers while knowing the hospital campus to ensure that those dispatched are to the right location.
- High school diploma / GED Required.
- Six (6) months of experience as a security officer in a hospital or healthcare setting, prior to law enforcement or military service.
- One (1) year of experience as a security officer is required.
- CA Security License, showing no disciplinary actions required.
- CA Driver's License required.
- AHA BLS within 90 days of hire required.
- Basic Health Care Security Officer Cert (BSO).
