Software Engineer – Responsibilities and Duties
  • Build components of large‑scale data platforms for real‑time and batch processing and own features of big‑data applications to meet evolving business needs.
  • Develop next‑generation cloud‑based big‑data infrastructure for batch and streaming applications, continuously improving performance, scalability and availability.
  • Contribute to best engineering practices, including design patterns, CI/CD, code review and automated testing.
  • Drive ground‑breaking innovation and apply state‑of‑the‑art technologies.
  • Participate in all phases of the software lifecycle: design, experimentation, implementation, and testing.
  • Collaborate to create robust, fault‑tolerant, cloud‑native software architectures.
  • Implement AWS managed‑service solutions.
  • Apply logical and creative reasoning to identify problems, draw conclusions from data, and develop effective solutions with creative thinking.
  • Align the team’s technology radar and architecture principles with industry standards and user needs.
  • Deliver multiple projects using Agile methodology.
  • Own high‑ownership, hands‑on roles to drive quality and maintain application stability.
  • Write complex programs, analyze code changes, and suggest improvements.
  • Submit clean, valuable code daily that adds new features and capabilities.
  • Investigate and resolve production issues from end users to persistence layers, and work proactively to prevent them.
  • Collaborate with leads, product managers and managers to ensure timely, high‑quality deliverables.
  • Work collaboratively with other service teams.
Required Education, Experience and Skills

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and architecting high‑scalable, secure, and performant big‑data applications using Java, Scala, or Python.
  • Proficiency with relational databases, SQL, No

    SQL stores, and event‑streaming platforms.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure – Terraform, Kubernetes, Spinnaker, IAM, ALB, etc.
  • Strong interest in open‑source technologies.
  • Knowledge of building highly available and scalable services.
  • Passion for technology and a willingness to engage in interdisciplinary work.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Commitment to craftsmanship and a personal stance on the “right” way to build technology.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in advertising‑industry applications.
  • Hands‑on experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Presto, or Kinesis.
  • Experience delivering high‑quality results with vendor teams.
  • Knowledge of performance testing and application profiling.
