Lead Software Engineer
As a Lead Software Engineer on the Music Supply Chain Team, you will architect and deliver resilient, scalable systems that support Disney’s music supply chain platform and data integrations. The role blends hands‑on technical leadership with strategic influence, transforming business requirements into innovative solutions across music metadata, finance, accounting, and royalties.
Responsibilities and Duties- Lead architectural design and implementation of large, high‑impact projects.
- Mentor senior engineers and facilitate collaboration across engineering, product, QA, and design teams.
- Own and drive the development of scalable and maintainable codebases, ensuring alignment with organizational standards.
- Guide cross‑functional teams, mediate disagreements, and influence technical strategy.
- Design, implement, and maintain robust data integration capabilities between the music metadata repertoire system and upstream/downstream applications.
- Ensure accuracy, scalability, and efficiency of data streams and integrations.
- Implement continuous integration, automated testing, and observability practices.
- Contribute to Agile development cycles and continuous improvement.
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong track record of designing, developing, and delivering production‑grade applications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in C# and .NET technologies (.NET Core / .NET 6+, ASP.NET Core, Web APIs, backend services).
- Strong proficiency in Java/JVM languages, Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Integration, and related Spring frameworks.
- Comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle, continuous integration, automated testing, code reviews, and documentation.
- Experience with event‑driven architectures, Kafka, Rabbit
MQ, or AWS SNS/SQS. - Expertise in relational databases (SQL, schema design, stored procedures, query optimization).
- Hands‑on experience with RESTful and event‑based API design and integration.
- Knowledge of authentication and authorization protocols (OAuth 2.0, access management patterns).
- Experience with AWS cloud services (S3, RDS, VPC, messaging/streaming services).
- Familiarity with distributed caching, observability tools, object‑oriented and functional programming paradigms.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, time‑management, and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
- Advanced cloud services and infrastructure management (AWS).
- Real‑time data streaming and event processing (Kafka).

SQL tuning and performance. - Serverless computing (AWS Lambda, or similar).
- Cloud data warehousing and analytics (Snowflake).
Position in Glendale, CA: $152,200 – $204,100 per year. Base pay varies by internal equity and candidate qualifications. Additional compensation may include bonuses, long‑term incentive units, and a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
