Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Content Platform Data Engineering team, focusing on building and enhancing platform capabilities with a strong emphasis on supporting our existing Data warehouse.
Responsibilities and Duties of the Role- Write and Maintain Software Solutions
:
Design, write, test, and deploy high‑quality code to develop reliable, maintainable data solutions. - Collaborate with Cross‑Functional Teams
:
Work closely with platform engineers, product teams, and stakeholders to ensure technical solutions effectively support business goals and content strategies. - Production Support
:
Monitor and optimize production systems, ensuring platform stability, performance, and uptime. - Mentorship
:
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience in data engineering or architecture.
- Proven track record of building and supporting production data pipelines and data platforms.
- Extensive experience with event streaming systems (e.g., Kafka) and data store technologies like Snowflake and Databricks.
- Proficiency with ETL/ELT pipelines and orchestration tools such as AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, and Apache Airflow.
- Deep understanding of data modeling concepts and robust SQL development.
- Expertise in designing scalable, cost‑effective cloud architecture and infrastructure.
- Hands‑on experience building and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines.
- Full‑lifecycle application development experience, including unit testing, code reviews, and documentation.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies in a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent oral, written, and cross‑functional communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with geographically distributed teams.
- Experience with cloud‑based data platforms (e.g., data lakes, data warehouses, or managed data services)
- Knowledge of streaming and batch data processing frameworks
- Strong understanding of data quality, data governance, and observability practices
- Experience supporting analytics, reporting, or downstream application use cases at scale
- Exposure to integrating AI‑driven solutions into production systems
- Previous work experience in media or entertainment technology, particularly in content distribution and media supply chain.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience.
The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA & Bristol, CT is $141,900 - $190,300. A bonus and/or long‑term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package.
